The heated swimming pool on the roof offers an extra enjoyment. It was comfortable to swim even in October while enjoying the marvelous view of Montreal at night. The rooms we clean, beds were comfortable, and it was a pleasant stay overall.

We chose the property purely based on its location between Saquenay and Quebec and time of day we needed to leave the former and arrive at the latter. We arrived tired and hungry at 7pm after a long day of kayaking in Saguenay and the proprietor's answer to our request for dinner suggestions (go to the grocery store for a baguette, some paté, and a bottle of wine and eat it on the balcony) was perfect. We enjoyed the proprietor's sense of humor and chit-chat over breakfast in the morning. He kindly also let us spread out our wet camping gear on the fence and lawn to drive so that we could properly repack it before continuing our journey into Quebec where wouldn't need it for several days.

The rooms features air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge, a coffee machine, a shower and a desk. Every room is fitted with a private bathroom. The room was spacious, quiet (for the most part - occasionally one could hear other guests) and clean. The breakfast did not have a really huge choice, but it made them up quite well with their onsite chefs who made excellent omelets. They had an excellently equipped gym, which I made use of occasionally. It was great that it was open at all hours.

Two room types are available; the “Authentic” rooms, restored in a monastic spirit, are former Augustinian cells with shared bathrooms. The “Contemporary” rooms are modernly furnished while respecting the heritage character of the place. These rooms have a private bathroom. This is not a normal hotel. Its a renovated part of a still active monastery. Meaning its calm. Quiet. Peaceful. You can join the nuns in prayer if you want. The staff are lovely and kind. Extra props to the kitchen staff for the beautiful breakfast box they made for us on our last day. If i ever find myself in Quebec again i hope to stay at this beautiful place again.
