It was also easy to walk from the hotel as well. The food was mostly outstanding, the staff very friendly with excellent English. The concierge service was outstanding, thoughtfully arranging a tour for the Alms Giving, Morning Markets and Kiang Si Falls that allowed me to explore the charm of Luang Prabang with ease.

Then, retreat to Tamnan Restaurant for elegant Laotian and European cuisine, followed by a handcrafted cocktail at The Tamnan Bar, where the ambiance is as refined as the views. Truly the highlight of our two weeks in the region. From the moment we arrived at the pier the staff was fantastic, especially to our young daughter. We just came from staying at a Four Seasons and the staff at La Residence far exceeded what we experienced there. The rooms, restaurant and ground are also perfect - the location is ideal for exploring Luang Prabang but retreating after dark to relax and debrief over cocktails. We are already discussing a return for next winter.
