We stayed here only for a night before driving into Kruger the next day, but it was such a good evening. When we arrived we immediately jumped into the refreshing pool and had a chat and a beer with the other people who stayed at the lodge. Then the owners of the lodge prepared an amazing braai for us and we ate together with everyone who stayed there, which was so cozy! Highly recommend if you are looking for a familial vibe and cozy hangout with other travellers.

The food was amazing, I requested vegetarian which was really good. The waterhole were animals come to drink. We saw all the Big 5 (we did 6 game drives). It felt like a home away from home. Will recommend it to everyone.

The game drives were very nice and fun, the girls know their bush! We got to see the big five in only 2 days. The cabin was nice and cozy, even though it gets pretty hot during the day (at night it becomes bearable with the fan on). Good hot shower! The elephants in the pool are breathtaking and the highlight of this amazing place.

Robert and Mateo went above and beyond to ensure we had a very personal up close experience. They were just exceptional. The lodge was fantastic. The food was absolutely restaurant quality in taste and presentation. We had to cancel lunch one day as we were so full from breakfast. We saw all the big five and so many more animals in their natural habitat. Just stunning. We will be returning. Thanks for the best stay.

I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Very beautiful, awesome animals, comfortable, very good food, I have plenty of dietary restrictions and Skheto was the best cook and adapted everything for me! Rome-Marie was also an amazing hostess who made sure everything was perfect. We saw animals ( elephants, impalas and even a leopard) from the porch, restaurant and pool all the time!

The tents have an en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette and tradtional lapa area. What a great find. You know on the long gravel road in that it’s going to be fabulous and it is. Lovely lady greeted us and really looked after us for the few days we were there. Lovely room, comfortable beds and a hot shower. Beautiful views over the river and valley. There’s a common room with lots of books, sofas, pool table, tennis table AND a piano. Fantastic. Food in the restaurant was also very good and the breakfast was excellent.
