The room was comfortable and clean, with facilities to make coffee or tea. Breakfast is served at Hotel Schuberts am Schloss, which is 5-10 minutes walk away , just far enough to work up a hunger! The breakfast spread is excellent, with a wide variety of food choices and friendly, attentive staff. Buttenheim is a lovely quiet village, handy for travel links. The station is only 20 minutes walk away, with direct trains every hour to Bamberg and Nuremburg and beyond, running late into the evening. The motorway is about 1km away. The surrounding countryside is a pleasant mixture of arable and woodland with lots of possible walks or cycle rides. With a little research trips out to beer gardens and beer kellers are possible in summer and the two Buttenheim breweries both have their own pleasant Bierkellers just a 10-minute walk away.

Excellent value for money. We stayed one night for a break during a long drive. The beds were amazingly comfortable, private bathroom was great. The host contacted me on how to do the self check-in. This was really helpful since we didn't knew how late we would arrive. Place was clean and smelled fresh. For this price, highly recommended.
