Breakfast was excellent with fried bacon and eggs every day with a wide range of hot and cold food to suit every taste. The whole building is new and well designed. The walls are modern too and not very thick, so you could hear noises quite easily. The river view was beautiful. Bathroom was clean and modern, with plenty of towels and complementary requisites.

The property has eight rooms, some of which have terraces and sea views, offering a spa and wellness centre, Hostal Meson Leira Antiga is located in Cedeira.

Loved this place. I was there in winter but blessed with beautiful sunny days for hiking on trails with few people. Espasante itself is a beautiful town with a port on one side and lovely beaches on the other. The hotel has been a family run business for generations and it shows in the care they take. The mum is also a keen walker and gave me advice on how to make the most of the great hiking in the area from O Baqueiro back to Espasante and then from Carino to Cape Ortegal and San Andreas de Texeira. Highly recommend both hikes. My hosts gave me directions to take for buses and arranged for Feliciano (local taxi driver) to pick me up at the trail end. Feliciano I can also recommend. Really nice and insisted on a side trip on the way back to see the view from Mirador de Miranda. Magnificent 360 views. The son and daughter run the business during the day and both are really nice, fluent english speakers (which helped a lot given my limited Spanish). I understand they are very busy during the summer but my winter visit was fabulous. The room was simple but clean and warm. No complaints.
