We have stayed in this hotel before and loved it. It is on the edge of the Old Town so ideal for wandering the beautiful streets with all the bars and restaurants you could wish for. It is also very near mainstream shops, a supermarket (Mercadona) and it is just a short walk down the hill to the beach. The only downside is that it is quite a steep climb back up the hill after a day at the beach but we got to grips with the bus system on day 2 so it was plain sailing after that. The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace open 24 hours where you can sit and relax with a nice glass of wine (or tea/coffee if you prefer). Our room was a twin with a nice balcony overlooking the street and came with tea and coffee making facilities which is rare for Spanish hotels.

The Hostal Fonda María is located in the centre of Benissa, 10 minutes' drive from the nearest beaches, such as Cala Bassetes, Cala Fustera and Cala Baladrar. Free WiFi is available.

Beautiful attention to detail, gorgeous little candles all over the hotel make the place smell heavenly. Lovely guy on reception makes you feel very welcome and like you've come home. The decoration is fabulous. A really unique hotel with very comfortable beds.

Affordable accomodation in a great location. Good that the place has a common kitchen area with tables/chairs, with a fridge and water and a kettle. Would definitely recommend.

The property is clean, spacious and very comfortable. The pictures really don't do it justice so we were pleasantly surprised! Perfect location, a minute away from the beach and a 5 minute walk to the main square. Everything is recently renovated and decorated very tastefully. The staff is very pleasant and helpful!!! We will be back!!!
