Wonderfully cozy room was welcome during our cold windy travels. Loved sitting and enjoying tea in the comfy chairs by the big window. Staff were very kind. Meals were fantastic. Location for walking to the castle was just right.

The location was great and handy for cafes, restaurants and pubs. The room had a fridge which I appreciated and a great selection of teas and ground coffee along with biscuits and crisps. Nicola, the host, was friendly and helpful.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the castle gate. The owner is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy. Beds are very comfortable - I slept really well. The location couldn’t be better either. 3mins walk to Barter‘s Books and 5mins walk to the castle. 10/10 recommendation! :)

Everything was fresh and clean .. excellent. Self check had clear instructions and easy. Bed was comfortable.

This guesthouse is in such a central location it's just a few minutes walk from the Castle Gardens entrance that I had gone there to visit.

Had a lovely stay. Room clean and beautiful furnishings etc. Very close to harbour and town. Ample parking. Will definitely stay again

Clean and spacious room with a king size bed, that is always a great point. The only con I could find is that, for me, the pillows were too soft. Anyways, Wilf was helpful with us and breakfast was excellent. Plenty options and great taste in all the dishes that they freshly prepared for us. To sum up, a lovely stay in a great location to explore the coast.
