Fantastic staff. They were brilliant when we had to rearrange all our travel at last minute as our flight was cancelled. Sorted a great guide for jungle trek too.Food was the best we had in Indonesia. No menu but at every meal they cooked fantastic home meals. Limitless free water refills too - necessary in humid jungle

Came to jhony’s for two days trekking tour through the jungle and was an incredible experience, from the start seeing orangutans and many monkeys around , the five start hotel in the jungle for the first night was special and the next day rafting to coming back to our a accomodation in Bukit lawang was the perfect close . The owner was super helpful and was eager to answer any questions through WhatsApp from the moment we booked. Getting a trek was super easy through him once we arrived and the trek was amazing. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to always be the first to spot an orangutan out of nowhere. Example: "I smell orangutan poo. Give me one second." Then runs off for two minutes and beckons us over pointing up at the tree to a mama and baby very early on. The bed in our room was amazing. Like a firm memory foam. Same for the pillow. For me, that is an ideal sleep. And the location was great. It was right in the middle of the village, so it was about the same distance left or right to the end of the strip. Can't beat the price.

I have never felt so welcome in my life in a hotel. Adi, Coco, Sarah, Santa, Ellie, and everyone else. You are all amazing people. The amount of work you put in the Cheeky Monkeys and all this while wearing the biggest smile and showing the kindest heart is not to explain in words, only in experience. I stayed for 3 weeks at Batu Kapal and would recommend to others that they not just stay for a day before and/or after a jungle trek but enjoy this peaceful and beautiful location for multiple days. The primates (several monkey species and orangutans), butterflies, lizards and birds around the property provide frequent interest. When their isn't great wildlife in your view, the beautiful scenery will make you happy to be there.

Our stay here was amazing! The room is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom also nice and everything is clean. Also the room has a big balcony with incredible view. The staff was also great, we arranged everything we needed through them and it was not a problem. We also booked a one day jungle trek with them and it was excellent. Our guide Dani and his brother were good guides and also very nice people.

This accommodation exceeds my wildest expectations completely. It offers a breathtaking view over the rice-fields, which truly is amazing. Every morning, I took the time to meditate in the attic of the meeting place. The cottage itself is truly beautiful and has a small bridge over a pond filled with stunning fish. It has almost a Japanese atmosphere. Gorgeous! In addition, the staff is always ready with a big smile and they are available all day to help. In the morning, a wonderful breakfast is prepared for me with great care, everything taken care of doen to the smallest detail. Moreover, I can work well here thanks to excellent WiFi connection. I also slept wonderfully here; the bed has a comfortable mattress and there is a great fan available. Within walking distance, you will find various shops along an excellent road, so everything is easily accessible. If I needed something, they quickly arrange it by scooter or they bring and pick me up without hesitation. I am absolutely 100% planning to come back here and would recommend this place to anyone.

Sounds and view of nature were wonderful. People were very kind and helpful. if you accept swimming in the river or showering in cool water, you will be satisfied. Janta helped us to arrange transport from and to the airport and gave us a wonderful guide Anuar for a two day trek full of unforgettable experiences.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Cheeky Monkeys! The team went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and plan an unforgettable trip. Huge shoutout to our incredible jungle trek guide Riyan, who made the experience truly unforgettable with his knowledge of the jungle and also by going out of his way to ensure we were comfortable at all times. Sarul's comedic relief during the trek was a good addition. Our driver Tony was efficient and funny. Chef Eli's culinary skills were impressive, whipping up delicious meals whenever we requested . Adi's flexibility in accommodating our change in plans was also much appreciated. From start to finish, our stay at Cheeky Monkeys was an absolute pleasure.
