We slept 2 nights. The fact that in the middle of the day the owner remade our beds and cleaned the room made me so happy!!!. It wasn't needed at all but the surprise of coming back in a clean room with fresh beds was so nice!!!!! Really thank you so much if I'm ever going to Iceland again I'm sure to stay here! Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Location was beautiful and quiet, perfect for my first night in Iceland after a long flight. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in while traveling. Beautifully decorated, felt like home. The massive outdoor garden porch space was covered, protected from elements, thought I was lucky with sunny weather. I wish I could have spent more time in this area. Kitchen was more than fully stocked, plenty of space and very clean. Wonderful hosts.

Our room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the evening. We also took a little time to meet all the animals and enjoy the farm. The location was also great, a quick drive to Selfoss with groceries, restaurants and anything you would need but also enjoy the countryside at the same time. The staff at breakfast was also helpful with giving advice about our plans for the day.

Peacefully located by Lake Villingarholt, Vatnsholt Bed & Breakfast is 9.9 mi from Selfoss town center. Impressive mountain views are featured.

Our one-night stay included breakfast, and we got to stay at a beautiful 2-person cottage. Despite the cold weather outside, the cottage was very cozy and warm. The view from the windows is absolutely amazing and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and there was no abundance of food to choose from. The staff was very kind and helpful.

We loved our stay! We are a family of five (with three children ages 18, 16 and 12). We stayed in the apartment above the goat barn. The apartment was cozy and quiet. All of us found the beds to be very comfortable. Compared to staying in a hotel where we are split up across two unattached rooms, Skalatjorn Guesthouse was one of our favorites places we stayed in Iceland! And the goats!!! Several baby goats had just been born the week before, and they could not have been cuter. Given that Icelandic goats are endangered, it was great to help support Helena and Stefan’s efforts to breed these animals to increase their population.

Wow, this surpassed my expectations. Even though the sky was cloudy, the view was magnificent. There is plenty of space here, for sitting, cooking, showering. Host left enough towels so I can dry my hair and the hair dryer was powerful, most hotel hairdryers are crappy but this one was salon level. It was nice to have more space from the places I had been! The washer and dryer worked the best! The kitchen was absolutely great with a microwave, stove and oven. There is complementary coffee from a DeLonghi machine that guests can use. Véronique even helped with my luggage. I come to Iceland annually and will definitely stay here again.

Jóhanna & Stefán are great hosts. They are very responsive, accommodating, and helpful. The apartment was big enough for our family and offered full comfort. Also, the kitchen was equipped with everything you might need and more. There is a big balcony with a great view of sunrise, sunset, and northern lights (see pictures). Beds are very comfortable, Wi-Fi was good as well, and you have access to the hot tub, laundry, and BBQ. We loved this location because it is about an hour or less away from many main attractions on the south coast. There is a grocery store close by, but we mostly shopped in neighboring Selfoss, in Kronan, which is a large and well-equipped supermarket, about 10-15 minutes away. We would love to come back some day :)
