We had a wonderful stay at Mika’s and Paul’s beautifully refurbished ancient Japanese house. Mika was so kind and did restaurant bookings for us and gave us recommendations of hiking trips and onsens. It feels like being in a house with friends of friends since you stay together in one space and use the same kitchen and bathroom. In the evenings we had a Sake and asked them everything we wanted to know about Japan. Very interesting! Thank you so much, what a special and great stay! 😁

The guesthouse is very cosy and comfortable. The host was friendly & patient with our request and despite the struggle with the language barrier she was able to communicate and even strike up a conversation about our common interests. The food is off the chart amazing! Fresh local produce were used , they even cured their own bacon! Simple but scrumptious!!! Delicious!

The couple that runs the guesthouse are super friendly and helpful with any matter. Even though I didn't speak any Japanese we could always communicate with a few words or a translator on our phones. The location is perfect, it's just in front of the railway station. There are convenience stores nearby or a large supermarket just a few km away on the edge of town. We used this place as a base to go hiking and climbing in the area. The room we stayed in was large and we had use of a fully equipped kitchen. All in , it's a great place to stay.
