If you're looking to escape into nature and get away from stressful environments, this is the perfect place. Ōboke is ideal for hiking, enjoying the natural scenery, and tasting the local tea. Ryu is an excellent host and was always available with tips and suggestions. I had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The owners son was very kind and is doing his best. The house is huge and has everything you'd basically need. Our room was huge and far away from any other guests so we didn't hear anything. The nearby light display at the huge garden in the next town new year was really incredible.

Cute little house with a very Japanese feel and style! Super friendly owners. The free bikes in front of the door were the icing on the cake.

The host is very friendly, loves to have conversations, and is super helpful! When I arrived he suggested some places I could visit. He also drove me to the start of a hiking-trail. Later he offered to cook dinner for me and some other guests. In my opinion the best host you’ll get. The guesthouse itself is very cosy, has multiple common spaces, and all the facilities you’ll need. The location is in this cute town/village where there are a lot of things to see and visit. It is also only a few minutes to walk to the station.

A traditional Japanese house that sat empty for years was bought by the neighbour and he and his son remodelled as a guest house. It still has the wood fire oven and traditional rooms but is brought up to date with A/C in individual rooms and wifi. The house is very secure with a coded front door lock and individual key room locks. I cycled around the neighbourhood, it was so lovely. I didnt bring any dinner so Yano-san, 85, took me to his recommended Udon Shop for the feed of a lifetime (see photos). No fuss, just being nice. The kitchen and bathroom are brought up to date with all the mod-cons. I’d stay again.
