It was a wonderful experience, coming to Mr. Hiro's house. The accommodation was clean, beautiful, traditional, the conversation with the owner was very pleasant. I slept wonderfully there. I will always return to this place in my thoughts. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. And as a bonus, there is excellent and tasty drinking water. If you are thinking about where to stay in Japan, this is the right choice. Just don't make the same mistake I did. We were only for one night. We have to come back here for at least 3 nights.

I absolutely adored my stay at this place. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Her breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The location is conveniently close to the station. The bedroom was cozy, with a comfortable bed ensuring a restful sleep. Everything about the experience was just perfect! Nikko holds a special place in my heart, and staying here only enhanced my love for the city

The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Cooked us a delicious breakfast even though it wasn’t included in the price and drove us to the station (only 5 minutes walking) so we could definitely catch the bus/train. Very clean house, comfortable futon beds and working air conditioning. All in all we had a fantastic stay at an authentic Japanese home and can only recommend Arai house. If we ever have the chance to come back to Nikko we would definitely stay here again

Awesome stay! Satoshi and Elizabeth were warm and wonderful hosts. The food cooked by Satoshi (very last minute) was also spectacular, and the dessert (home made ice-cream made by Satoshi) was amazing. The room was warm and clean and there was a very nice Kotatsu to use. The outdoor Onsen was also spectacular and heated perfectly! Definitely will stay again and highly recommend for everyone to try!

This place feels like home. Kumiko helped me find places to eat vegetarian, brought me to the local English club, upgraded me to a solo room as I was the only female traveller in the dorm, and spent time with us playing games. The guesthouse is also super conveniently located diagonally from the station, but there is no noise. A super nice experience !

About a 20-minute walk from the Nikko shrines, Annex Turtle Hotori-An is situated next to the Daiya river and green forests. It features hot spring baths with river views.

The hotel is located in a very calm and peaceful part of Nikko, just next to a river. I fell asleep and woke up listening to the sound of water, I just love it. In addition, the hotel has an onsen and it was amazing after a long hiking day!!! All the staff are great and friendly. I got traditional Japanese room, which made my stay even more special.

The bbq area and deck was awesome, the Alexa feature inside the house was convenient and easy to use which made our stay pleasant. It was freezing outside so the Aircons in the house made it a pleasant stay. We had everything we needed. Excellent place just to get out of the busy city and unwind and get a glimpse of the beautiful mountain scenery and rivers around Nikko.

Everything was great! I loved the traditional japanese style room, the tatamis were clean and comfortable, the room and bathroom had everything we needed, we loved this place!
