I had a good stay and saw the amazing shrine and cave that I didn't know about. Place is in a beautiful area, in the mountains. Easily connected by public transportation by bus to Takachiho. It was very comfortable stay, a bit loud in the morning when outer guests were getting ready. Everything very clean, private room spacious. Good wifi, microwave, tea, all that I needed was there. Check out was at 10 but they were very kind when I asked to checkout little bit later which I really appreciate. Overall I recommend

Cute guesthouse in this small town. The host was just lovely. The Japanese style beds were very comfortable. Bathroom and other facilities were good. Easy parking off site. Can easily walk through the town to restaurants and shops.

We arrived quite late and Shinya was so kind to wait for us & greet us during our arrival and gave us a box of his mom homemade chiffon cake. The instruction given in the message was clear and easy for check in. The kitchen cottage was the best place for our chit chat session during our stay. Very cozy room with a really friendly hostess. The hostess prepared a meal for me despite the restaurant being closed. In fact, all the restaurants in the viscinity were closed and it was raining heavily, so that was kind of a life-saver. I was in the area mostly to visit the Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, and for that the location is as good as it gets. Buses go from Takamori station to the hotel every hour, but you could also walk (about 3.5 km). Shared bathroom and shower/bath, but I never noticed any of the other guest ( if there were any ). Everything was clean. The only issue was that only a tiny towel was provided. If you can, bring your own. Should be higher rated than it currently is, very nice place with a nice atmosphere.
