United KingdomWe loved our stay at this guesthouse! The family that run it are really nice and were so helpful. The free pick up from the bus station was much appreciated after a very long journey from Luang Prabang and they kept the restaurant open to cook dinner for us too. The room is big and comfortable, as well as clean. The bed is big and comfortable, with soft pillows. We highly recommend staying here, it is excellent value for money and a lovely place to stay to explore this area of Laos!

The garden rooms are clean and beaitiful, its in a great location just behind the main road. Every night the family light a fire (in an old empty bombshell) in a shared outdoor kitchen for guests to sit around and mingle or relax. Cheap beers available, lots of good food options nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff. The highlight sure were the two day tours with Mr. Souk. He is a top tour guide, speaks well english and is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He is a very nice person to travel with and has a good sense of humor too. I had two great days with him and was very happy to invite him for dinner to express my thanks. Our room was perfect for what we needed, clean and comfortable. The fire that we sat around each evening chatting to Kong and the other guests was a highlight. Everything was clean, nice, working, and comfy, which is already a lot for the price. But Kongkeo guesthouse is more than that, the owner, Kong, is an amazing host, always happy to help, chat, share.
