Wonderful stay with Gihan and Dinu! We stayed twice for a total of 7 nights. A wonderful, authentic experience in Sri Lanka. They are extremely kind and welcoming. They speak English very well, and we were able to take the time to ask questions and discuss many topics such as culture, sports, politics, food, customs, etc. This allowed us to better understand this country. They truly care about their guests, making sure we have everything we need and giving great tips for visiting the city and its surroundings. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner if needed (we recommend trying it at least once because it's delicious). We did the cooking program, which involves buying ingredients at the market and then cooking together. It was great to see all the flavors they add to the dishes we enjoyed afterwards. They know a contact for a safari in Wilpattu National Park and can help organize it. Regarding the accommodation, it's located on a very quiet alley. There's a kitchen available and a pleasant terrace overlooking the small garden. The rooms are well-equipped and pleasant. We recommend a stay here for a wonderful human experience. ThilakaRatne & his wife Kanchana are really hardworking & amazing hosts. The property itself is amidst the Paddy fields on one side & the jungle to the other side, which makes an ideal place to stay if you love nature. Thilakaratne has his own farm & he lays all those fresh produces on your table everyday. The Food they served were all very delocious & they were also very reasonably priced. I also took the tuktuk services, where he himself drove me around the Anuradhapura city ruins,concluding in Mihintale. If you are in Anuradhapura, I definitely recommend this place

We had a fantastic one-night stay at Pearl House Resort. The location is excellent—very close to the main city and attractions. The rooms were spotless, with great air conditioning and hot water available. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always available when we needed assistance. Our booking was for two rooms, but they were not adjacent. The hosts went above and beyond by offering us a bigger room for the same price, which we truly appreciated. Overall, a great experience, and we would definitely stay here again!

Awesome place located by the lake. Really clean. And the beds are really comfy. Note the showers are cold but that is really welcome after a hot day cycling! Super close to town and restaurants. The hosts are really helpful. And you can hire bikes from them to tour the sacred city which is a fab way to do it. Walking round the lake is also lovely with all the restaurants on the lakeside. Best value stay for our entire 5 weeks in Sri Lanka

Our stay at Village Life Mihinthale was absolutely wonderful. If you're interested in exploring historical sites, this is the perfect base. The location is excellent, offering a clean and calm environment, and it's conveniently close to the beautiful Mahakanadarawa Lake. What truly made my experience special was the host, Gihan. He was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable time. He even guided me to a fantastic viewpoint to witness a breathtaking sunset over Mihinthale – a view I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. I'm so grateful for their warm hospitality and highly recommend Village Life Mihinthale to anyone visiting the area.

When we booked at the property the manager kalhara message me and told me he could pick us up at the buss stop for free and when we arrived at the property me showed us round and asked if we wanted tea or coffee and told me if we need anything or we need any advise about the area just to message him any time the room was top notch it was very well finished and tiled floor and nice fittings and had kettle and lots of coffee and different tea and water and he said if you need any more just let me know the next day I wanted to go and see the ancient city and temples and Kalhara and his cousin akash detailed we we should go and visit and organised a good scooter for us the next day we wanted to go to the train when we was leaving and he organised me a taxi and also the breakfast was fantastic lots of food and served outside in a nice area and also we both had a good nights sleep and the air con is really good to all in all it was a really good experience from booking and arriving to leaving 10 out of 10 from us
