We had an incredible experience at Mango Japanese House! The owner is exceptionally friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The delicious fresh breakfast and dinner were a highlight, though ordering in advance is necessary. The cozy, clean, and private houses, along with the great pool, provided a refreshing escape. Surrounded by lush greenery, it felt like a real paradise garden – a peaceful retreat away from noise, offering genuine privacy. Highly recommend for a serene getaway!

This hotel is soooo worth your money! (Very good rates!) Extremely clean, a comfortable big bed, a hot rain shower and great a/c. Very spacious room and bathroom. Great location, very quiet but close to the bars and restaurants. Very nice people, the host helped me with my heavy bag at 4.45 in the morning!!

My partner and I had the best stay at Star Canal Cottage. After receiving a great tuk tuk tour around Negombo from Leon at the start of our trip, we stayed at his guesthouse before our departure too due to his friendliness and consideration. Our room very clean, spacious and light, with a powerful hot shower in the bathroom. The location is great, close to the city centre with restaurants nearby, but down a quiet canal road to enjoy the peace. We read and listened to the birds on the terrace during the day, while drinking home made lime juice before an excellent dinner of home-made prawns from Leon. A wonderfully kind, funny, and diligent host (and now friend), we will recommend Star Canal Cottage to anyone wishing to visit Sri Lanka :)

Absolutely loved our stay - after travelling for a long time, Deb and Joseph's place felt like staying with a relative. From the smooth free airport pick up, comfy and extremely clean room to delicious breakfast, pool and puppies and great chats with the hosts - we had a great stay and look forward to returning.

Nice room, simple, clean and comfortable.The location is great if you have a flight to catch: we stayed there on our arrival in Sri Lanka and booked it again on our departure. The family who runs this guest house is very nice, helpful and honest. They were a great help for us.

This is a superb guesthouse in a very quiet neighbourhood. The owners, Ron and Brenda, were fantastic hosts. They really care about your comfort and with providing useful information about the area. The English breakfast is absolutely lovely! Do not hesitate to book this place!
