We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

Clouds 1939 was an absolute delight. The location and views were magical , the perfect place to relax. The adorable dogs made our stay even more memorable. Meals were great, staff were lovely, and the rooms were spacious and cozy - especially the attic room, which was my favourite. Highly recommended!

Absolutely everything. Of particular mention are the little things like while at night I am sitting alone in the very comfortable lounge watching TV and the host brings a hot cup of coffee.

The best of all was the kindness of the host who welcomed us with tea and explained and recommended everything we could do in Nuwara Eliya. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast very good.

Excellent mattresses, spacious room, good hot shower, parking space, wifi. Extremely friendly couple and delicious home cooked diner and breakfast. From there you can walk in 25 minutes to lover’s leap waterfall through a fantastic scenery of tea plants and mountains. Absolutely recommended to stay here.
