The house has is new, everything was spottles clean! There were only 6 or 7 rooms for rent, but the house itself is quite big, with a large common kitchen/dining area and a huge yard, with tables, external wooden jacuzzi, kids playground, BBQ area, tennis court and a large green-grass lawn, that our husky loved even more than we did! The hosts were really nice, down-to-earth people! They didn't speak English, but were able to communicate with ease thanks to Google translate. The man of the house greeted us uppon arrival and then treated us with a welcome drink - a traditional high alcoholic beverage, like Bulgarian rakia for me and a low alcoholic cherry liquore for my wife. The lady of the house offered us coffee from the coffee machine that was on our disposal in the kitchen area, showed us around the kitchen and on the next morning (it was Orthodox Easter) she treated us with peaces of homemade cake, freshly boiled home milk and also gave us amazingly hand-painted eggs! The hospitality of these people was out of this world! We can't thank them enough for the way they made us feel at home!

I loved staying at Pensiunea Valurile Bistritei! The entire place is lovely with a river by it. It's a beautiful place to spend a few days to relax away from the noise of the city or very touristy areas. There is a restaurant which is really good. I had the best breakfast in a while. If you are doing Via Transilvanica, be aware that it's about 10km in the opposite direction. However, it's a beautiful walk accompanied by the river. If you don't want to walk, you contact the owner and see if you can be picked up.

We loved our stay at Apartamentul Ghioceilor! The room was warm, cosy and clean and the shared kitchen was modern and very well equipped. The owner is incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome! Even on a cold autumn afternoon, we loved sitting in the outdoor area and admiring the views while sipping on a hot cup of tea. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again next time we are in the area.

Great location, a few minutes on foot to the central park. The host was kind and helpful. Our initial room had a bad smell in the bathroom and they offered us a replacement room. The replacement was clean and quiet, although it had a bit of a smell in the bathroom as well. Less than the first option to be fair, and not all the time but still unpleasant when it happened.
