Guest Houses in Fenchihu

This accommodation far exceeded our expectations. Firstly, it was my first time to Alishan and I had many queries which the host was very responsive to answer all of them. She was very kind to help my family to arrange transport to pick us up from Chiayi HSR and got the driver to tour us around Alishan. Secondly, the views from the room were incredible. Thirdly, we enjoyed our showers daily due to the high water pressure. To add on, the beds provided in both rooms were very comfortable. Lastly, the common area was very clean and great place for us to have our take-out meals. My family and I enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely stay at this very same place in the future.

Clean, quiet and comfortable homestay in central Chiayi. Very easy checkin process with great communication from the host. Spacious and cozy rooms, very well appointed. The bed was fantastic and the attached bathroom had everything we needed.

Great stay! Rooms are modern and have everything you need, breakfast has great options to choose from, location is good (you can easily walk to the centre), carpark has plenty of space and is easy to get in and out, price is excellent!

The host was very friendly, and the chalet in the mountains was amazing and spacious. The bed, bedsheets, and other linens were clean.

There are many things that I love about this inn, but the main ones are the kind owners' hospitality and the fantastic sunrise/sunset views (only if the weather is good, of course). I had the chance to enjoy delicious tea and a nice long chat with the 2nd-generation owner, while the 3rd-generation owner gave me travel tips gave me rides to and from Shizhao, one of the nearby bus stops. The 6th floor has a viewing area—perfect for those who don't want to get up at the crack of dawn to go all the way to the more famous sunrise-viewing platform at the Alishan Forest Recreation area. That's what I wanted to do originally, but if you're a solo traveler, a taxi to/from the area that early is going to be very costly. I decided to just check out the sunrise from the comfort of this inn instead, which was just as gorgeous! (Don't miss the sunset; it's also gorgeous btw!) Rooms here are cozy, spacious, clean, and quiet. Teabags are available in-room, so you can enjoy Alishan tea during your stay! A homemade breakfast used to be included with your stay, but due to staff shortage since the pandemic started, the owners give you 7-11 vouchers instead, which was fine by me. Location's pretty good, too: some buses from Chiayi City, Fenqihu, and the Alishan Forest Recreation area stop close by. Otherwise, you can get off at Shizhao/Shizhuo (more buses stop here, and there are more shops and restaurants where you can pass the time), and the owner can pick you up from there. While staying within the main Alishan Forest Recreation area itself would've been the most convenient option, accommodations there are limited, and even the budget options are, I feel, pricier than they should be. And so, I'm really glad I decided to take the chance and stay here, which isn't in the main Alishan area.
