The guest house features family rooms. The rooms were smaller but cozy. The bathroom is shared, but only for a few rooms. What I want to highlight is the owner's attitude. Right next door is a wonderful restaurant where the smiling owner took care of us as if we were his own. The food served by the young chef was amazing. It was our best experience with Albanian cuisine, where tradition and modernity were combined. And as the cherry on the cake was the luxurious breakfast. Thank you very much again, we will remember.

It was a great place to stay, with a wonderful and attentive hostess. The apartment is beautifully and generously equipped, making it very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and a lovely start to the day. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we couldn’t try the dinner option, but there's a great restaurant called Erta within walking distance. If you're visiting in the summer, there's also a great public swimming pool just 5 km away. We truly regret not spending more time at Guesthouse Hoxholli – the surrounding area is full of interesting places to explore.

We arrived late and tired and they made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The place might not be a villa as we know it from other places but the rooms are very spacious and the pictures accurately describe the place. I would stay there again.

The wilderness of surroundings and the road were amazing and the brekfast niam niam, the best in ALBANIA, we also could stay longer and Nia family is really human.

Guests at the guest house can enjoy fishing nearby, or make the most of the garden. Very quiet romantic spot in a handcrafted house (by the owners). The room on the 1st floor has a terrace with comfortable chairs, which the room doesn't have. There's a large sofa but no table, so you have to deposit your laptop on your knees. The hostess provides on order a nice dinner and her husband served us an excellent breakfast according to our wishes. I wouldn't recommend the house wine, but you can BYOB. She is a charming and highly educated lady with perfect English and we had an educating and entertaining conversation about life and times in Albania.

The place looked very new and modern, located about 1km outside of the little village of Fushe-Studen. On the property there are a number of large modern villas, each with multiple rooms in multiple configurations. We had a 1-bedroom apartment complete with living room and full kitchen. The apartment was spacious, bright, clean and comfortable and all the furnishings and fittings were of good quality. We really liked all the hooks around the place to hang clothes – a rarity in most places here. The Wifi connection was lightning fast and the TV had a decent range of English language programming. There were lots of heaters/AC around the apartment, so no problem staying warm. We were able to park right next to our apartment which was very handy. There are a couple of decent mountain bikes on site that can be rented for 5 Euros per day. We gave them a good ride up into the mountains and they performed OK, but the roads around here are super rocky and rough. The onsite restaurant served us up a great dinner both nights, and the free breakfast was reasonably good as well. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travelers looking for a great base for exploring the national park.

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Castle House. It is a wonderfully historic, sympathetically restored house within the old, Roman castle walls of Elbasan. Gjon, the host, speaks perfect English, has a great sense of humour and is clearly passionate about the history behind the house (which has remained in his family). He was helpful and kind, allowing us to arrange a much later checkout for 25 EUROs extra - this was really important for us as we were then able to enjoy a wonderful lunch within the city walls and have a leisurely departure onward to Tirana in the late afternoon. We had the whole house to ourselves - everything was clean and well-maintained. The location was perfect for us as, not only was it within the old city wall, it was also just a 10 minute stroll to the main bus stop/departure point. If ever you are visiting Elbasan (which isn't on every tourist's itinerary but is well worth a one night stop, especially for the food - we had our best meal of our Albanian adventure at a restaurant not too far from Gjon's place), Castle House is definitely worth your consideration.
