They delayed breakfast until we returned from our safari. They were always looking out for us. The Guesthouse is such a lovely place. Very warm and welcoming. Chimney not only shared insights about life in Botswana, but also organized the best game drive we’ve ever experienced: a 12-hour journey through Chobe with a breakfast and lunch break, all arranged by him. We had the time not just to see the animals, but to truly observe their lives in peace. Honestly, this experience even surpassed our impressions of Victoria Falls the day before. While the facilities may seem modest to some, the dedication and heart Chimney puts into his hosting are the real highlights—and they added incredible value to our journey.

The grounds are beautiful and very quiet.

Public Transport available only 1 kilometer away from our guesthouse (BWP 8 one way in shared taxi to Kasane downtown) The calm vibe…It is a bit off the beaten path. BUT they make up for it by providing a daily free shuttle to town. Eddy is so patient and knowledgeable.

The guesthouse is in between Kasane and Kazungula, but it was easy to grab a taxi for 8 pula to get into town. There are taxis constantly going back and forth between the two towns. The location was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were gracious and kind.

Gloria was the perfect tour guide and made arrangements for me to go to Victoria Falls, Sunset River Cruise, Chobe National Park, Villages Tour and more! She also recommended restaurants in the area, and provided transportation herself. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shalakwe Hills!!
