The hotel was fabulous, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was the best we had in all of Switzerland. If you are into hiking this is the hotel for you. We give our stay two thumbs up!

Situated at the foot of the Säntismassiv Mountain Range and the Kronberg Mountain, the Landgasthof Eischen features a traditional Appenzell restaurant with a terrace, a spa area and was renovated in 2012. Beautiful property with a gorgeous spacious room. The staff was very friendly (even with a little language barrier); they were super helpful and kind.

Located next to the car-free centre of Appenzell, Adler Hotel is set in a beautiful traditional Appenzell-style building. It offers free Wi-Fi and wired internet access, a breakfast buffet, and a charging station for electric car. We loved everything about our stay. The suite that we lived in was very large, enough for the 3 of us. It had a piano that my son enjoyed playing as well. The family owners and staff were the most hospitable, ensuring that we had a very memorable experience. We were also provided with a portable air conditioner in case it got warmer. We had stayed 3 nights, so enjoyed a special tourist card with free transport, cable car rides, cheese factory entry, and many discounts. We also were given free transport from the airport to the town.

On weekdays, the property can organise a breakfast buffet in the wintergarden, from 06:30 onward. Everything way beyond any expectations!!! I wish I could have rated 20 out of 10 - they would definitely deserve it. Communication, flexibility, pro-active approach to my wishes and changes, even a famous 5* property staff in town might learn here quite a lot. Top of the cake: I was challenged to make my scrambled eggs on my own for breakfast and I was really truly happy, there was no chance for any dissappointment coming from the hotel kitchen:-)
