Very creative art and just original stuff (bed, soap holder, sink) etc etc. it was tasteful and amazing. Host was amazing. She waited for me even after midnight given a late arrival. It’s one of these places where you immediately feel at home and no pressure. I am still impressed by my stay. Location was excellent. Close to everything, food, bars, clubs and it’s right on the Colonial Zone.

The food was amazing, so were the drinks in the restaurant right next to the guesthouse. High speed WiFi. The beach was close by. Large and spacious room. Very clean and tidy. Wonderful staff. Enough free parking spots.

This is the only place I'll stay in Santo Domingo. It's right in the middle of the Colonial Zone which is safe to walk around day and night for tourists. The rooftop view is STUNNING and I caught the sunrise and sunset each day. The kitchen is huge and modern and was a pleasure to cook in - just make sure to ask for a cutting knife if you need :)

Parking on-site is available and the guest house also features a shuttle service for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Had an amazing stay at Akunamatata and would highly recommend it. The house was clean and spacious and only a few minutes from the Main Street of Grand Case and the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed while away. The outdoor area was relaxing and the bed very comfortable. Although we were sharing the house with other people it was a perfect place to stay. Thank you to Jamal for being so accommodating!

Sightseeing tours are available close by. An indoor play area is also available at the guest house, while guests can also relax in the garden. The location was fantastic, up a short steep climb to give a view of the bay, particularly good view from the lovely pool. Fairy lights lit up the pool area at night and there were chairs for sitting outside. Our room was charming with enough space around the double bed and a good sized bathroom with a very big shower. We opted for a home-made dinner one evening which was absolutely delicious (guacamole appetiser, soup, chicken Columbo and chocolate and lime mousse ) and with good company from fellow guests. Breakfasts were also delicious and thoughtfully prepared and included fresh fruit, fresh mixed juice, pastries, bread and a choice of egg. On reflection we think that the food here was better than most of the food we had in restaurants in both Martinique and Guadeloupe. Tea and coffee was available throughout the day and a fridge supplied in the common area for guests to keep food in if needed (understandably no food allowed in the rooms). Stephanie was a delightful host and managed to combine her family (in a separate part of the house), her 2 cats and her guests with a wonderful balance. Stephanie also speaks very good English.
