I absolutely adored the thoughtful originality! The tub/shower is open to the room, so bear that in mind. The bed is divine! The grounds are a lovely wild garden with a small pool hidden away. It’s complete peace. Now let’s talk breakfast! Lydie takes great pride in her carefully prepared breakfasts and it shows. You have a choice of sweet or savory breakfasts, whichever your preference, that she delivers it to your room. Her originality even extends to the presentation: jam served in egg cups and sugar cubes in a small Bonne Maman jar. ❤️ It is beyond sweet. Frankly, this is one of the most original and charming places I’ve ever stayed in. Lydie is amazing also. I can’t say enough about her understanding and flexibility. I messed up our reserved days and she completely went with the flow. Mind you, Lydie only speaks French, so if your French isn’t conversational, you will probably need a translator app.

Our room was spotless and the bed comfortable, perfect for a night’s sleep. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, local products, served with a view of the garden. Every detail reflected care and quality, and the overall atmosphere made for a memorable stay.

We went to some nearby vineyards for tastings. The rooms are lovely with everything you need. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the property one evening and it was delicious. They served us a beautiful salad, dumpling ragout & an incredible cheese board. Spending time with their beautiful dogs topped off the stay for us! NB. Not all vineyards open when they say. Chateau de Pizay is worth a visit, it does a self guided wine tasting for €10 - it is a beautiful property & you get to keep the wine glass

Location was perfect for us; we are following the 2023 Tour de France. Also very close to the train station. Valerie is an exceptional host. We will certainly stay here again!
