We stayed overnight at Old Hunters Lodge as it was close to Whipsnade Zoo and we wanted an early start at the zoo the next morning. The property was perfectly located for that, it was easy to get a cab from Luton Station to the location. The hotel itself was lovely, the room was charming. While it was a little loud being under the flight path for luton, we both managed to sleep with our headphones on and we are light sleepers. The staff were exceptional, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Prior to my stay I received a message from Louise and John asking if I wanted to book a table for dinner as we were arriving on Valentine’s Day and it would be busy. I really appreciated them taking that step to ensure we would have a table for dinner on the night we arrived. Dinner was lovely, I was a bit nervous as I am allergic to mushrooms and most of the valentines menu included mushrooms but they made sure my main didn’t include mushrooms. The portions were massive and the food was very good. Breakfast the next morning was also very good and fast, there were lots of options for cooked breakfast as well as juice and cereal for self service and hot drinks from the bar. Overall this was a great stay and I could easily see myself coming back.

The owner was incredibly kind and provided us with precise instructions, including a helpful video on how to locate the accommodation and complete the self-check-in process. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean—perfect for our family of four, with four separate cozy beds. We loved the added convenience of having a small private kitchen in the living room area, as well as access to a well-equipped shared kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, cereals, biscuits etc. The private bathroom was small but modern and spotless. The location is ideal, situated in a peaceful residential area and very close to the airport. Overall, a fantastic stay that we highly recommend!
