The shower amazing. Our evening meal was delicious as was our breakfast. The price for our room & meals was very reasonable. Staff were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. It was in a lovely quiet location not far from the main town of Harrogate. We are planning on staying there again on our way back from Scotland.

Situated in the heart of York, The Bar Convent Guest House is only a 15-minute minute walk from the city centre and just over 300 metres from York Railway Station. The Grade I listed building offers an exhibition on the history of the site, a garden and free WiFi. Nice, clean and quiet room. Great beds, and we loved the full english breakfast. Friendly staff, and ideally situated just outside the city walls.

Absolutely splendid accomodation, truly classical in the best sense. One of the most pleasant and cosy hotels I have ever been at. Authentic good old times here.

A quirky boutique hotel which we loved. Very well located and fabulously decorated rooms. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Lunch and dinner feature star ingredients in classics, interpretations, sharing dishes, and divine desserts. And kids have their own Pearly Calves menu. Afternoon tea is afternoon sea – a very fresh take on this timeless treat. And on Sundays, traditional roasts bring a beautiful close to the week Comfortable beddings, very clean hotel. The location is great, not too far from the minster and the train station. They can pick up your luggage from the station, very convenient! We also loved the pantry area, so generous!

Historical Whitby Abbey can be reached in 20 minutes’ walk and the popular Captain Cook Museum is just over a mile away. The town centre is a 10-minute walk away. The host is exceptionally friendly, we had a warm welcome and felt like home away from home.
