Bryan is a really knowledgeable (ask him about the jungle, he has great stories), positive and cool guy. His friends, family and him will make sure that you have a nice stay in the cozy jungle hub of Bukit Lawang. The food at the Guesthouse is excellent and the vibe is very good and relaxed . The jungle trek is lead by Rosit aka the magician! Just like Bryan, he has real love for the jungle and its animals. He's a great team of guides working together for Thomas Leaf. On top of that, Rosit can show you magic tricks, love his enthusiasm. You can also do a tour in the area to see how Tempeh, Tofu and Brown Sugar are made and you will stop at a some other places with the nice guidance of Ponido (sorry if the name is not totally correct 😅). I can really recommend it!

There is a private bathroom with shower in some units, along with bathrobes, slippers and free toiletries. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels.

A bicycle rental service is available at the guest house. Excellent guest house, I highly recommend the view for your stay in Padang or Mentawai. Robert (British) picked me up from the airport for 250,000 idr. The guest house is located a few minutes from the town centre and the Mentawai ferry port. It is on the hill side, 100m above the beach with an incredible view of the ocean. The sunsets are magnificent. Unlike the city centre, the place is very quiet so you can sleep very well. The rooms are very clean and bright and the largest room upstairs has a balcony with a breathtaking view. One room has its own bathroom and the shared bathroom is spacious, clean and has a real shower with hot water. I was supposed to stay for 2 days, I went back for another 10 days. You can rent a scooter at the guest house or ask Robert to take you somewhere (leaving a tip is always good). You can use the washing machine for free. Coffee, tea and hot and cold water are free as well . You can eat on the premises or in the restaurants on the street. There is a choice of breakfast (Indonesian or continental). Robert and his wife are very welcoming and accommodating and does his best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. So after having stayed in several hotels in Padang, I will only come back here.

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Alek the owner is an amazing host, he really takes care of you. The jungle 2 day jungle trek he arranged was amazing too. The accommodation in right in the middle of the town and close to everything. The rooms are good and the bed is super comfy. All in all, I had an amazing stay here.

Located in Bukit Lawang, Gino's Place - Guest House & Jungle Trekking features a garden, terrace, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. We had a great two night stay! The room was spacious and the AC worked great. The staff were so kind and helpful. The food was delicious (we liked the curry best) and very reasonably priced. We also signed up for a one day tour with them and we had a great day with 5 orangutan sightings led by our guides Jojo and Aldi. One evening some local guys came by to hang out and play some music. It was great singing along and getting to know the people of Bukit Lawang! It was also great that this didn’t go on late into the night and we still went to bed at a very reasonable time.

All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area. The guest house provides certain units that include sea views, and every unit has a private bathroom and a desk. The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. Borja and Yuyun are excellent hosts that offers you the warmest welcome that you can imagine. They are very kind and help you with any and every question you might have about the place and the island. Every single item in the rooms were well thought. Room was very clean. Having a mini fridge, boiler in the room was great to have. Location is fantastic as it's a bit remote in the island which offers you a calm place to relax. Having the ocean right beneath you is remarkable. Food in the restaurant which is running as a side business, "La Boca Chica", was a great surprise for us as it really exceeded our expectations for taste and variety. We were not comfortable to ride scooter and Borja was kind enough to give us a practice session which shows how far they are willing to go for helping their guests!

At the hotel, every room is fitted with a balcony. At Sahnan Guest House the rooms come with a private bathroom. Beautiful bungalow sat in a lovely garden. They also have a restaurant on site. Staff was very nice, they arranged car to Berastagi. Room spacious and very clean.

À la carte and Asian breakfast options with local specialities, fruits and juice are available. At the guest house, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner and lunch and serves Indonesian cuisine. cute little abode with rich foliage in the garden 🪴 gives a homely and “green” feel to the place. the host Mrs Rama is fabulous, attends to your every need and with a warm and friendly, cdemeanour. clean and comfortable. despite its proximity to the city the place makes you a thousand miles away so tranquil

At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. This was such an amazing place. The owners Sarah and August welcomed us very friendly. We had a pickup at the bus station. The rooms were nice, spacious and comfortable. The food was tasty and for reasonable price. We did 3 days trekking with guide Bai and friends and had so much fun. We saw tons of animals including wild orangutan, siamangs, argus and turtles. The camping in nature was simple but very fun and the food was amazing. We felt like in a family. Thank you 🙂

Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the outdoor fireplace, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. The Kupu Kupu garden guest house is in a beautiful location with very friendly staff especially Arif who made us feel at home and welcome straight away! we enjoyed our stay so much that we booked in for longer because we didn’t want to leave! the facilities were all perfect and the whole place was very clean, we honestly didn’t want to leave! we would of spent longer there if our stay in Sumatra wasn’t so short. We definitely recommend this accommodation for anyone else and will definitely be back!
