Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! We spent two nights on the island, and it was absolutely amazing! In the evenings, after all the tourists have left, you can take a peaceful walk near the water and feel like you have the entire island to yourself. The guest house we stayed at was fantastic! Traveling with our 5-month-old, we felt incredibly welcomed. Our room was huge, especially compared to other accommodations in Japan, and the common area downstairs was spacious and inviting. They offered a mini buffet for both breakfast and dinner, which was just perfect for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back. The guest house is conveniently located halfway between the ferry terminal and the gondola. In the morning, we enjoyed a lovely walk through the park to the gondola and managed to beat the crowds. Highly recommend! They also has two onsen options which you essentially book just for your family.

We actually were on our bicycles to get there and no problem locating the hotel. There's plenty of parking spaces in front of the hotel, if you come by car. Facilities are great. We stayed in shared dorm using shared bathroom which is no issue for us at all. Bunk bed is quite comfy and quiet at night. Bathroom is squeaky clean, very very clean! We love everything here and will definitely plan a trip to stay here again!

Great location for exploring the shimanami kaido, few minutes cycle from supermarket, maybe 15 mins to port to rabbit island or tatara bridge. 30mins cycle to other side of the island with the shrine and onsen. Everything was really clean and you were well provided for. Only a few beds in dorm room which was nice. Would love to stay again!

Lots of Detective Conan goods displayed as well as the hosts' handmade washi/cloth lamps. Rooms and facilities clean and well maintained. Location is convenient as Detective Conan tourist spots, convenience store and dining options are all accessible by foot. Hosts went above and beyond with their service, including a free optional tea class with sensei as well as transport back to the station at the end of the stay. Thank you for the sweet potatoes for the trip back!

Staying in a 100+ year old traditional Japanese home was an amazing experience, and the fact that we had the whole house to yourself made it even better. In addition, the host was so kind and helpful and really went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us great recommendations for dinner and helped us make reservations. The room was very spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and every amenity you could possible need was provided.

One of the most beautiful places I've stayed during my month in Japan. I am only sorry I had just one night, would like to stay longer. Easy to find, all necessary amenities, fully equiped kitchen with traditional ceramics dishes and all electronic appliances you could imagine. AC heates the room well. Shower quite big. Everything spotlessly clean. Emergency food available, since there are probably no shops nearby. Drinks too. Tea & good coffee for free. Boardgames available. The house is designed in an old traditonal japanese style with tatami floors. I was amazed. It looks even much better than on the photos. The staff speaks english, which can be quite useful after an exhausting day on the bike :)
