It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

Set in Yanagawa, Fukuoka region, 柳川ゲストハウス 憩 (IKOI) is situated 35 km from Hirayama Hot Spring. The property has garden and inner courtyard views, and is 19 km from Yoshinogari Historical Park. The guest house offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. We loved every second of our stay at IKOI in Yanagawa. The guest house was a lovely half hour walk from the train station along the canal in an absolutely beautiful neighborhood. We loved strolling around the area and it was easy to get to boat rides and restaurants nearby. IKOI itself is wonderful and had everything we needed. Warm room (can't say that about every place we have stayed at), super comfortable beds and other amenities in tip top condition. The view of the garden from the cafe is honestly worth the price alone, it's breathtaking. It's hard to believe you're not in the countryside when looking out that window. Finally, I have to dedicate a paragraph of this review to Jo, the owner. He was so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. He helped us with figuring out transportation, he called a restaurant for us to help with a reservation and he recommended some local places that ended up being the highlight of our stay in Yanagawa. I cannot say enough great things about our host, just 10/10. Overall, our stay at IKOI was wonderful and I could not recommend this place more!

The house was very clean and well-furnished. In the bedroom, there's an AC unit, and in the winter the host provides additional heating devices. The neighborhood is very quiet, so my stay was super comfortable. On top of that, the host is extremely nice and accommodating.

At the accommodation, all rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a TV. Warm and friendly hosts that made us feel super welcome! We hope to come back again to stay at this awesome family-run hostel. They have a lovely big kitchen and dining area for guests to cook and hangout. Located right across the road from a great surfing beach with bikes for free and surfboard & wetsuit rentals. Lots of things in biking distance if you don't have a car and we took a train nearby that took us to the airport when leaving. Emi and Sok also offer surfing lessons and surf-skate lessons which we didn't sign up for but heard good things about from other guests. Super clean and wifi was good (my partner had to do a video meeting while there). The suggestions from our hosts on which breaks to go to so we could get some great surfs in were also really appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay that capped off our awesome time in Kyushu!!
