The owner is very meticulous and very well organised. He even made the manual with all the tips you need to get to the apartment, to buy something in surrounding shops and how to use appliances in the apartment . They were the kindest couple! The sleeping rooms were beautiful with tatami mat floors and rice paper screens. We went in the winter, so it was a bit cold, but the room comes with a kotatsu table (low table with a built in heater and blanket) and it was amazingly cozy. The view from the room is also incredible, overlooking a ravine with a rushing river. In the morning the made us a delicious breakfast of rice, soup, salted fish, mountain yam and an assortment of other goodies for only ¥1000! They have cats on premise, fyi if you’re allergic, they were only with us at breakfast (obviously not in our rooms) but they are such sweet kitties! From Tersuji and Yoko, to the cozy vibes, to the attentiveness and care - It was like being taken care of by my own grandparents!

I loved how clean and well equipped it is! The bathtub is amazing as well. Very rare to find in Japan. After hiking all day, I could take a long hot bath and just allow myself to fully rest. It was wonderful! Their shop next door was a great addition and convenience. I’m obsessed with the passion fruit cider they had there!!!
