Information booklet in the room was helpful. Help to rent mopeds, organise transport, guides etc. The room was spacious, bed was really comfortable, hardly any creepy crawlies (this is a complaint from many of the eco lodges). Good wifi. 2 fans which was nice. Good shower pressure and temperature.

The guest house features family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. The owner, Odelba and her family were awesome! So kind and helpful. The place has a great location to do whatever you want to do in Ometepe, very clean, solar energy, great wifi, filtered water, hammocks. All good. We loved it so much that we are staying one more full month!

A lovely family runs the place and makes sure you have everything you need. Rooms are basic but comfortable, A few blocks from the main area of town, which made for a peaceful and quiet night.

The value is amazing - one of the lowest prices we’ve found for a private room with private bathroom in almost 6 months of travelling in Latin America. Our room was clean and spacious, wifi worked well, there is a nice garden, and the location is good. There is a small kitchen which was a nice surprise since it wasn’t listed as an amenity on Booking. Danilo is a great host and speaks English very well. Also used him as a guide up Conception volcano and he was great. It also sounds like he has plans to invest more into the hostel so it will be even better!

Guests at the guest house will be able to enjoy activities in and around Balgue, like cycling. You can tell this hostel was put together over years with care and attention. Furniture is all handmade by local craftsmen, for example. I spent way too much time in one rocking chair that I wanted to take home with me. Estelle the owner and her family give it a very homey touch. Filtered water is free! Highly recommend it.

Friendliest and sweetest accommodating hosts, the prices couldn't be beat, and it was really an incredible location for what we wanted: peaceful, close enough to run down the hill to the beach, proximity to the famous Ojo de Agua can't be beat. Great, affordable motorcycles available to rent on-site, the most comfortable hammocks! Very private and perfect for couples or families who are looking to experience Ometepe's incredible nature in a well-placed, authentic setting. If we ever return to Ometepe we will be back!

I had an amazing experience in Nena’s Guesthouse! The service was absolutely excellent from start to finish. I want to especially recommend Nena’s motorbike rental service – it was convenient, reliable, and made exploring the area so much easier. Narcy was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay, I enjoyed very much. She answered all of my questions with patience and a smile, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean, with everything I needed to feel at home. Everybody was friendly! A special thank you to Narcy, who went above and beyond by taking me around the island and making sure I had one of the best days of my entire trip. Her kindness and care truly made a difference — I’ll definitely be coming back!
