We found this cozy and affordable accommodation by chance. Horgen is about 25 mins train from Zurich HB and 30 mins from Zurich airport It is a small town by Lake Zurich. The apartment is within walking distance from the train station and swimming facility. Excellent place to unwind and reboot.. Cost is a fraction of that in Zurich. We bought a rail pass that gives us unlimited rides in train, ferry, and bus in the whole zurich canton. This makes horgen an even better choice to stay. Although Chez Esther is a homestay, there is complete privacy as Esther is usually in her own room. Our own 26 sq m room has a desk, lounge area, TV, and many books. We have a dedicated toilet just outside our room solely for our use. We can use the oven and refrigerator. We can take our meals in one of two lovely terraces.

Lake View Private Studio, a property with a garden, is located in Richterswil, 28 km from Fraumünster, 28 km from Grossmünster, as well as 28 km from Bellevueplatz.

Really nice place. We met Gery himself who is the owner. Everything was arranged very nicely from the room to kitchen to (a huge) bathroom. Didn't feel like a hostel but like own home. Very clean and everything is modern. Gery had made sure to stock all the supplies (even a travel adapter). Can even use laundry service if required. Really pleased and definitely worth more than money spent.

Really comfortable and peaceful stay. Stunning views and walks on doorstep. Excellent transport links. The villa is an exclusive area - just out the tourist-filled Lucerne but close enough to get to places and do everything you want to (20 mins on the 21 bus). Francesco and Sylvia were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the terrace. Thank you so much

The room is pretty spatious for a hostel; the bathroom, even tho it's shared, was spotless and pretty comfortable; good water pressure and temperature control. The staff was super helpful when asked about public transportation schedules for when we had to leave, too.
