The house is situated in central square of small village. Parking near accommodation was always available. Bigger stores are in nearby town about 6km away. Nina the host was great, very kind and warm person. Every morning she made a great breakfast at the agreed time. The comunication through booking.com pre and after the stay was great, she made sure all our needs are met. She also speaks english, big plus in France for foreigners. Accommodation was cozy and clean, well taken care of. The bathroom is shared but always kept in great condition. All in all the stay was very comfortable, we are coming back next time.

If you are thinking to book, please do it. It is an absolutely unique experience and I have no words to describe how much I loved this place. It is a truly authentic place, it is not watered down for touristic purposes and you can feel how it truly was living there in the 18th century (we stayed in that part of the domain) with the full comfort of modern times. We did not know you can arrange for dinner, so if you want that make sure you ask - we had just breakfast. I am already planning for my return. The owners are amazing and I want to thank Sophie again as she was so kind to send me my forgotten sunglasses (to Romania).

Pierre and Patrick were very friendly and helpful. Despite us arriving late, we were greeted with coffee. We enjoyed breakfast especially the homemade jam, and their company - felt more like visiting friends than paying guests. The bed was very comfortable, the room had an ensuite, although there was no tea and coffee in the room, Pierre and Patrick made us coffee in the lounge. They also helped us by booking dinner in a local restaurant. We were able to explore the abbey which was beautifully appointed and the grounds surrounding it - their lounge was full of beautiful, antique furniture, and art work. The stay was very comfortable and relaxed, and a much nicer experience than staying in a big hotel chain. We will definitely come back and stay in the future, and would recommend it to everyone.

Alexander and Guillame could not have made our visit more enjoyable and memorable. A night at Au Petit Thouars was a delightful way to end a hard day of cycling. After storing our bicycles securely in a garage a short walk away we returned to find our bags in our room, a kindness our sore legs needed! Our room had the most astonishing view, a good shower and a very comfortable bed. We ate a delightful meal, exquisitely cooked by Guillame but made special by the conversation and companionship. The evening ended by realising how late it had become. Our sleep was effortless in a dark and cool space and to wake to birdsong from the valley was the best alarm. Breakfast was as perfect as dinner with the best of everything served beautifully. It was a real pleasure to be hosted by A and G in their stylish and comfortable home and we hope one day to share another evening with them..

Christian was so welcoming and friendly, the house was a little bare and lacking in facilities but for the price we were comfortable and had a good sleep, followed by some morning pastries and coffees before we set off. Merci Christian!
