Very spacious, clean & pleasant house. One of the nicest homestay we've had during our month in India. We where the only guest at that time so had the whole house for ourselves. The housekeeper is so friendly and tries to give you the best time. Breakfast is also amazing!

Frances and Jeeja and their lovely home are what made this stay so enjoyable. The house is spotless and modern. The breakfasts are amazing. I stayed a week just to have some relaxing time. Its quiet this far out of town but there are places to eat along the beach. My personal favourite was Catamaran, recommended by Frances. Great to see village life, watch the fishermen mending their nets, and the women praying each evening at the small shrine, for the safety of the men out at sea. Do the backwater tour by paddle boat, a great day out.

A Truly Wonderful Experience!" From the moment I arrived, I felt like part of the family! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Kalappura homestay was wonderful! Rooms are clean, excellent working shower, and AC worked well. Very friendly nabourhood susurounding the homestay. What really made this homestay great was how helpful Jose was with everything from recommendations for acccomadations on our trip to Munnar, Thekkady, and transportation also. We didn't reserve a backwater houseboat prior to coming. However, Jose was able to provide 2 unique trips for us last minute at a very reasonable price. The dinner at the homestay and breakfast served on the houseboat were very delicious meals that were also one of the highlights for us. Everything worked out great for our Kerella vacation and exceeded our expectations..

I had an amazing experience staying at Johnson’s! The house and the accommodation are excellent — clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect: peaceful, well..connected, and surrounded by nature...I spent one unforgettable night on their houseboat in the backwaters, and it was truly incredible. Everything about the place feels authentic and serene.

    Loved staying at Kalappura homestay! Jose and his family were great hosts. The room was super comfortable, with a very soft bed and a hot shower! There is a nice common area and the location is great. Jose also helped us with booking the boat tour Fientje backwaters. He provided us with different options so we could decide what type of tour we wanted to do. Thanks Jose & fam for your hospitality!

    This homestay is clean and comfortable with an uplifting and quirky vibe. Johnson is a lovely host who clearly really cares about the environment. He was kind enough to drive us to a restaurant he recommended and offered to pick us up due to the heavy rain! The price is very reasonable and the other staff members are nice. We felt very looked after.

    The host family was so welcoming and kind. They couldn't do enough for us during our stay. They helped us with trip bookings, tuk tuks, and laundry. The breakfast were big feasts! The host made different local dishes each morning. The home stay was in a quiet area, not far from the beach and a few restaurants. The room and living area was really clean - one of the cleanest rooms we've had so far on our trip in India.

    The hosts Albert and Sunitha are extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They are a warm family who are great hosts. Sunitha is a great chef who makes customised authentic kerelan meals for all 3 meals a day! Another guest celebrated their wedding anniversary there and the host family went above and beyond with decorations and cake! The room was clean. The homestay is right on the beach with great sunset views. We stayed at hotels during our trip but the experience and service here was far better!
