Karun is a very kind, helpful and welcoming host! The bed was comfy, the room was very clean and the AC worked well. I would definitely stay again. Karun organised our kayak trip and our Tuktuk to the train station.

We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay with a warm, welcoming family. Vijeesh helped us see everyday life inside this small community - so much better than busier, touristy places up the coast. If you're interested in a calmer, more laid-back experience of the Kerala backwaters, we would recommend you stay with Vijeesh and his lovely family.

I had a wonderful stay with a warm, welcoming family! I was well taken care of throughout my visit. The room was cozy and clean, and the food was absolutely amazing. They provided plenty of information and recommendations on where to go and what to do—from a morning boat tour to kayak and bicycle rentals, plus laundry facilities, everything you need was available. Keep in mind that the homestay is a bit remote, further from the main river, but I found this to be an advantage. It allowed me to rent a kayak and explore the small canals easily. Additionally, the homestay is within walking distance from the train station—if you choose to walk, follow the road near the temple.

Lovely quit place, all new and clean. With really nice food, and very helpful and sweet Deepa and her lovely parents. Deepa speaks good English, knows all and arranges what we wanted. We enjoyed everything!

We had the most wonderful stay at Kailasam Homestay, hosted by the lovely family of Kala, Akhil, Roshni, and their adorable son Aayansh. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The location is perfect—peaceful, scenic, and truly allows you to unwind. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. But what made our stay truly special was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. Kala's cooking was exceptional—every meal was a delight, full of authentic Kerala flavors. Beyond just providing a great stay, they went above and beyond for us. When I had a minor flu, they kindly took me to the hospital, which I truly appreciated. They also arranged all our activities seamlessly and ensured our pick-up and drop-off from the nearest station were taken care of. All in all, this was the best time we had in Kerala, and we can't recommend this homestay enough. If you're looking for a place that offers comfort, great food, and amazing hosts, this is the one! We’ll definitely be back!!

We stayed in the wooden chalet and very much enjoyed our two night stay. Sunaina and her family looked after us with great care and made our stay very memorable. We had the perfect view of the river whilst eating wonderfully prepared home cooked meals. They organised a sunrise canoe trip, booking it and taking us there and picking us up. Also arranged our taxi on leaving. We highly recommend the Green Chromide homestay. The room was perfectly clean and good WiFi, in a stunning location.

My stay at this homestay on Munroe Island was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment | arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the host, Appu. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the island — its history, culture, wildlife, and the hidden gems that most tourists never get to see. Appu went above and beyond to make sure every part of my stay was comfortable and enriching. Whether it was guiding us through serene backwater canoe rides, sharing fascinating stories about the island's traditions, or introducing us to delicious local food, he made every moment special. The homestay itself is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Waking up to the sounds of birds and watching the sunrise over the backwaters was magical. If you're planning a trip to Munroe Island, this is the place to stay.
