A Peaceful Retreat with a Homely and Professional Touch I initially booked nearly ten nights at Thekkady House and enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay for two more nights. The house offers a homely atmosphere with a professional approach, making it perfect for solo travellers, families, or groups looking for a cosy yet well-organized environment. The two rooms on one level with an open verandah were charming, and the other level with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room made it comfortable for families or groups. I recommend checking out the nearby Riya spice shop for some of Kerala's finest spices. Additionally, Thekkady House has a sister venture, Periyar Homes, located nearby, which offers spacious accommodation ideal for larger groups. The host is a lovely and dedicated woman who took great care of everything, ensuring my stay was wonderful. I’m thankful for her warm hospitality. Thekkady House is an excellent choice for a calm and convenient stop before heading to Munnar!

Amazing place with an enormous cardamom plantation. And besides this, the whole plantation is a biodiversity hotspot! The plantation includes many different species and varieties + a high overview tower. We got an amazing tour on how the cardamom is grown, but also how coffee, clover, pepper and many more fruits are cultivated. Truly amazing, would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay in this nice homestay. It is quietly located, overlooking a coffee plantation from my balcony, but everything within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean, cozy and spacious and my host a very lovely and friendly woman. Right next door her nice sister runs a restaurant where you can eat very well. I just can recommend this wonderful place.

The room was very good with a wooden finish making it a more traditional Kerala style house. Mainly, Mr.Lawrence was very helpful, he is more than a host. He provides all the suggestions about places to go and things to do. I highly recommend this place!

Incredibly nice owners that were very happy to help out planning your stay in Thekkady The view from the room is very beautiful! The room was super clean and nice. The property in general is very lovely. Breakfast was very good. Dinner was served on request as well. Overall, a very pleasant and perfect stay.

Oriole homestay exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort, hospitality, and overall experience. The room was spacious (the biggest we got during our travels in India), and it had a nice big balcony (more like a terrace). The bathroom is also big, providing hot and warm water; a shower is a bit separated from the toilet so not everything is wet after showering. The hosts, Mr. Girish and Mrs. Sunila, were a real gem - they were warm and friendly and they helped us with our tickets (go to the martial show, it is really fun to see), and all other bookings (nearby trips, intercity transports, etc.). All their recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants were excellent. We had breakfast at a homestay on our last morning, and Mrs. Sunila cooked great food, and we had a very refreshing conversation with Mr. Girish who is an expert in Thekkady animals and forests, and knows a lot about world animals in general. Mr. Girish, I will read the book soon! Finally, the location of the place was great as it was situated in a peaceful area but also close to a few good restaurants and a walk distance from the attractions.

Periyar Inn is a place to stay for a while, take a deep breath and slow down from the busy life outside. It is the lush green balcony setup and the kind and caring people who created this gem that make this place so special. My boyfriend and I got to spend two nights with this lovely family and I wish we had another one to rest and read on the cozy balcony. The breakfast was delcious and we enjoyed chatting there with other guest. We also got invited to a very yum dinner on night, sharing stories with other travelers. We received help from the hosts with any our questions, they were always there for us and went the extra mile. We felt very welcomed in this house and I‘m beyond thankful for the experience.
