The self-service check in was very smooth and the instructions sent by the owner explained everything clearly. The room and facilities were clean and the atmosphere is very homey. Highly recommended for someone looking for a place to spend one night or so in the middle of their icelandic adventures.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gaukshof! 🌟 The property is full of charm, with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy , perfect for a relaxing night after exploring the area. The location is great, offering both tranquility and easy access to nearby sights. The owner and staff were very lovely, and made sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was great and clean, with a lot of (new) kitchenware, and we found it a lovely touch they put some cookies, tea and coffee out. The bathrooms were clean and big, and the rooms were large too. When we arrived it looked like a bit of a deserted large building, but we found out it was an old school, so this was actually very cool, there's even a sports hall in it! And because the area is further out of town it's nice and dark, and this helped our luck to top off our stay with a little northern lights show :)
