Satomi, the host, was the most charming and thoughtful person. As a host, she was extremely helpful and I felt so at ease asking her for help with recommendations, help with reserving the ferry off the island, help for changing the drop off spot of my rental car, etc. She took the time to get to know me and ate with us in the common spaces. It was wonderful. The beds are comfy and super private, and they don’t shake. Many fans and air conditioning in the home. Large shower, many cooking utensils, and amenities in the outdoor kitchen. I was scared that I would hear the planes due to the proximity to the airport but I must have heard them twice over 5 days. The decoration is also wonderful and full of stories you can ask Satomi about. For a very very modest sum she made us some onigiris for lunch which was great too 😊

An amazing place to stay for a vacation in Yakushima. The location is spectacular with a sea view, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The owners of the hotel are charming and help with everything we need, they helped us perfectly in preparing the visit to the island. Staff, the kitchen ustensile available i.e. You Get everything you need. The washroom is clean, the room was a traditional old Japanese room with a comfortable bed and good A/C.

The little pension is run by a lovely grandma and grandpa. Very welcoming, even though there was a language barrier, as they do not speak English, we managed to get the point across via translation apps. They offer yummy breakfast and can prepare nice bento for you if you ask for it for lunch. The location is great, near the airport, however car is optimal for the best experience. The location of the pension is close to all of the main routes and key activities. We were staying in the private bathroom room and were happy with the facilities.

The location was great and walk able from the ferry port. The view from the room was exceptional and beautiful. I have traveled a lot within Japan, and this is by far the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. The owners were so kind and helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Yakushima. It was so calm and nice and a perfect getaway from our otherwise stressful lives.

As i have said in my google review, i think this is the best homestay you can find in Yakushima. This is my second time staying with Taguchi and Hitomi san and as the 1st time, they are so nice and accommodating. They gave great suggestions ** i walked and climbed some difficult trails and it took me a total of 14hrs in2 days ** my legs ohh...hahha...and they also offered to pick you or send you to the port for your trip. They did their outmost best to make you feel at home which I said it did make me feel very welcome ^^ Clean and cosy...the room is big and the house is well designed.

Hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. Despite a language barrier, they asked us what our plans were, whether we needed breakfast or a packed lunch, and they made sure we had the necessary information to plan our trek out to Jōmon Sugi. They also provided tea upon our arrival!
