The location is a very short walk to the National Park gate. Very clean and comfortable accommodation 😍 The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful. For example, our rental car had a flat tyre and he himself repaired it during our jungle walk. For that walk he organized a very capable guide and we can highly recommend this activity. All in all we were very pleased with our stay at the Evergreen Villa.

We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. Sitting on a beautiful hill do you see what I see? Or may be I'm dreaming? Because the picture not seems to be reality. Dozens of peacocks are walking. The night fog descends, revealing an incredible view of the mountains surrounded by jungle forest. And so on, so on. The house under the high trees is surrounded by the garden full of exotic plants and flowers. There is a great desire to sit all day at the cottage on a comforrable chair without moving, watching the amazing nature around. The host and his parents are very nice people. He is young and handsome,though his English is very good. He was our guide to the forest, where we spend the whole day watching various animals, insects and birds, listening to stories about them, as well as other details of the life of the relict forest Sinharaja. We have been swimming in several waterfalls. We got soaked in the rain. But we returned home happy and tired, where a delicious Sri Lankan dinner was waiting for us.

Really magical place. The owners are unbelievably cute and prepared us amazing dinner and breakfast and we’re really really welcoming. The view of the room and the sitting area was stunning. It was hard to leave as they really make everything to make you feel at home. Absolutely recommendable. Booking shows the property on the map. On the point on the main road there is a little way down in the forest and that’s where the rainforest view guesthouse is. So if you arrive at night and you can’t find it straight away - just call the number in the profile and they come pick you up.

We've been in some pretty good places in Sri Lanka, but this one was definitely the cleanest and most well-maintained. Large rooms, plenty of space around, terraces, a swimming pool... the water in the pool was fantastic. And it was right next to the rainforest and bus station. You can actually watch different species of birds from the swimming pool.. The meals were excellent, different every day. Everything was perfect.

I booked a bird tour in the Sinharaja Forest with Achi (Sinharaja Tour Guide – Rain Forest Tours in Sri Lanka) and also decided to stay at his family’s accommodation, which I found very practical. The hosts were extremely kind, polite and professional. They gave me great tips, supported me with all my wishes (for example, I wanted to visit a tea factory in the area) and even helped me arrange a car for my next destination, since there was no Uber available in this rather remote area. The accommodation and the garden are beautifully designed, and you can clearly see how much effort, energy and love the host and his family put into it. The room was very comfortable and lovingly arranged. I also ordered both dinner and breakfast there – the dinner (fried rice) was excellent, and the breakfast was customized to my wishes. Originally, I had only booked one night but spontaneously decided to stay for another because it was so nice and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. I also recommend everyone to explore the nearby town, which is within walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can warmly recommend Eco Villa Sinharaja to anyone visiting the area.
