A Wonderful Stay at Stone Gate – More Than Just a Place to Stay! We had such a lovely experience at Stone Gate in Katugastota. It’s not a typical hotel – it’s part of the owners’ home, with the ground floor being their residence and the first floor prepared beautifully for guests. This made our stay feel very warm and homely. The owner and their entire family were incredibly welcoming and kind to us throughout our stay. They treated us like friends rather than just visitors. A special mention goes to their adorable husky, Chotto, who added so much joy to our time there! If you're looking for a peaceful, friendly place with genuine hospitality, I highly recommend Stone Gate. It's a place where you feel truly cared for.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Kandy home stay. Jaliya and Shama were the kindest hosts we’ve stayed in 3 months of travelling Sri Lanka. The house is absolutely immaculate and you have access to a wonderful balcony set in nature. The facilities are excellent and the highest standard we have experienced since leaving the U.K. I highly recommend visiting Kandy home stay.

I highly recommend this villa for anyone visiting kandy and will definitely stay here again! loved relaxing by looking at the greenies surrounding.WiFi was bit slow at times, but that was not an issue.

Differnt like in Sri Lanka the pictures doesn't show You how great is the place. Clean, comfortable, nice smell, european standard. Great working air condition, HOT WATER. Even that the place is difficult to find don't worry about - the owner will guide You from the orientation point - shop. You can reach the point with the car even if it's upway. The owner is really good person. He will tell You about all wat's worth to see around. He will help You with the organisation transport without extra charge fir him. There is an area with kitchen, living room with sofas and tv for use for everybody. But the most important thing is the view. It's realy 360. We can adwise the room with the big windows on the corner where You can enjoy the sunrise from the bed. The host, the wiev, quality and price makes this place the best to stay in Kandy for more than one night.

We booked quite last minute and arrived in the evening, we were picked up and welcomed with a traditional Sri Lankan meal cooked by the amazing nana Nandi. The rooms are clean and the surroundings beautiful and quiet (apart from the beautiful nature sounds). Sudesh the owner is super helpful and tries to accommodate you in every need (from a Kandy tour, tuktuk service, or help by choosing a taxi driver, to a nice chat with a beer). The family has a lovingly warmth which makes you feel welcomed and at ease. We stayed here with our kids, but I would also recommend it to couples without. The fact that there are (almost) daily cooking classes makes it easy to meet people. To summarize: a recommendation from my heart! We will meet again <3

The hosting familly was accommodating us really good, they gave us a ride and lots of valuable information about whole Šri lanka and little bit of its history. We enoyed that hosts were speaking perfectly in English. Breakfast was as goog as 5 star’s restaurant. The facilities, comfortability of the bed, shower, the view was perfect, better that we expected. Thank you again it was the place that you want to stay as long as possible.

It's a place with an incredible view! It's a bit far from the center but you can take a tuk tuk and that's it! The room was very clean, the breakfast was very good for the price. The staff was very friendly at all times. They helped me get a tuk tuk to take me to the station and at night they recommended where to have dinner.

We were happy to find and stay at this place. It's a family small hotel with very good location at the hills of Kandy. It's 15 min walk to the city center, but if you are not walk lover you can take a tuk tuk for a dollar or two. Spectacular view from a very big terrace and far away from the city jungle and noise. Very nice room, well furnished and equipped with all you might need for your short stay. Air conditioner, kettle, hair dryer as well. They offer coffee, tea and water as a compliment in the room and we highly appreciate it. The bath is small but very clean. The breakfast - oh my God. Rich and tasty. We couldn't ate all they had prepared for us. We highly recommend this place. Thank you.
