We had a wonderful two-day stay at Kotmale Homestay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat. The homestay is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and provides a truly welcoming atmosphere. One of the best aspects of our stay was its ideal location, making it easy to visit all the key attractions in the area. Whether you're exploring nature, historical sites, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of Kotmale, this homestay is a perfect base. The food was absolutely delicious, prepared with great care, offering a delightful taste of home-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. What made our experience even more special was the warm hospitality of the private host and their family. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, engaging in friendly conversations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their kindness and hospitality truly set this place apart. Overall, Kotmale Homestay is a gem—a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place with excellent food and a fantastic location. It was our best accommodation in Sri Lanka so far! The room and bathroom were clean, the water warm, the view from the balcony spectacular. The bed was big and comfy as well. The host was very kind and hospitable, he helped us with renting the scooter, prepared very tasty breakfasts with fresh fruits and even checked on us after we left for the further travelling :) the contact was unproblematic, right after we arrived we were given the numbers (phone and WhatsApp) that we can contact anytime we need something.

This has been one of our favourite places to stay! It was so clean and so comfortable. The location was great - It was walking distance from the train station (up a hill, but we didn't mind that - you could get a tuktuk otherwise), and town (literally a few min walk down the hill to the shops), and there was a great restaurant opposite too. There is a beautiful garden which has amazing views overlooking the hills - we loved sitting out and just chilling in the garden. The rooms were large, spotless and really comfortable. We slept very well. There's also free tea, coffee, biscuits and drinking water, and full use of the kitchen. The host was really helpful too - he put us in touch with a tuktuk driver so we could get to Adams peak to hike it for sunrise. Overall, we loved staying here and would definitely stay again.

We had a very lovely stay here after finishing Pekoe stage 05. The host is super friendly and kind and made us a fantastic dinner and breakfast! Beds are comfortable, room is clean, and shower has hot water! Really good value for money
