What a great place. We needed one night in Badulla to catch a train the nexr day.. Perfect location. Brilliant staff - so helpful. The room was big and beautiful. The whole house was beautiful. Very new so spotlessly clean. Dinner was delicious. Perfect eggs for breakfast.

Everything was very clean. We had hot water, toilet paper, soap, and good wifi. The breakfast was very delicious and every day we had something different. The family was welcoming and helped us in every possible way when we asked. It is literally in the middle of nature, very quiet, green, and you can enjoy the sound of birds,insects. Highly recommend Mountain Shack if you want a relaxing, quiet stay in Ella!

This place is incredible :) our best accomodation in Sri Lanka. View is spectacular, we can see Ravana waterfall from bed. Room is very clean, cosy, owners thought about everything: hot shower, fridge, cool glasses and water, shampoo and shower gel, we can use even hairdryer here! Tasty, local breakfast, juices, coffee. Very kind and helpful owners, we felt very comfortable and spent fantastic time here. Highly recommend! Thank you for having us 🌸

Highly recommended! The owner is a sympathetic guy, takes care of you, the breakfast- beside it was delicious, eating breakfast with this view was spectacular experience. Clean and comfortable- you can enjoy the noises of jungle and relax on the terrace with a stunning view!

Wow, what a special place! We spent 2 nights here and the family couldn’t do enough for us- so kind and generous. They made us cups of tea and coffee when we arrived and throughout our stay. Stunning location in the jungle away from the centre of Ella, with views across to Little Adam’s Peak. Delicious food- they made us an amazing curry on our 1st night- 7 different kinds with rice! And the breakfast….just delicious. Our room was very clean with a comfortable bed, mosquito net and a balcony overlooking the family farm and onto beautiful views. We used their taxi to get us around and to our next destination. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. 😊

Upon arrival in Ella, we were warmly welcomed by the people from Star Gaze. They were so friendly and made us feel right at home. We had some really nice conversations with them! The room is truly beautiful and the view is breathtaking! We would recommend anyone to stay here for a few days when traveling through Ella. Waruna provided us with an amazing breakfast every morning. He was such a great employee! We hope to return to Sri Lanka soon to enjoy their hospitality again! they were the most wonderful lovely people. (btw. everything is within walking distance from Star Gaze Lodge)
