BDK is a fairly new hotel/ aparthotel, has big spacious rooms. Clean and comfortable. It is more a suite than a room because you have a living room with a nice sofa, television and small kitchenette area. And a large bedroom with a big closet and a good functioning air conditioner. Bathroom is not very large but functional. The area is quiet, has nice restaurants, coffee and baklava shops nearby. Supermarkets are around the corner. The tram is a 5 min walk with suitcases (uphill for the first 100 meter) which goes to sulthanamet, galata bridge, and Katakoy district. It’s just 80 cents for one way with your bankcard checkin. But if you are just going to the blue mosque and hagia sofia it’s much easier to walk. 7 minutes to the blue mosque end of Sulthanamet. The location is therefore great. You find more local tourist in this area, which we like and the owners are very helpful if you want but they also leave you to your business if you know what you’re doing. Extra tips: go by tram to Balat and Karakoy districts. Eat at the docks of Karakoy. From the hotel walk to Cundi park and the riverside and enjoy the less touristy areas. Take the boat to Kadikoy and Moda on the asian side from either Karakoy or Eminonu tram stop for just under a dollar. Money saving tip: if you want a bosphorus cruise just to see the sites, just google that and you should end up with cruises for just 5 euro online (getyourguide)for a 3 hour cruise including a stop on the asian side, take the 18:00 one so you can enjoy the sunset too!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Emirhan Guest House. The staff were lovely people and so welcoming from start to finish. It was also one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. The location was a perfect base for exploring the old city, with many sights within easy walking distance while being away from the noise of the main streets. In the evenings and early mornings we sat on the balcony listening to the birds in the trees of the beautiful mosque next door. Lots of shops and restaurants are also nearby. Really convenient and just a lovely experience. Thank you for having us!
