The room was very cozy with a beautiful mountain view. Although the house is located near the road, it was surprisingly quiet. There was a kettle in the room along with tea and sugar. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and tidy — we felt very at home.

Pension Sarstein is located directly on the shore of Lake Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut region, a 2-minute walk from the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hallstatt. The property has a private beach area and a sauna, and WiFi is available free of charge in the common area. We have stayed at the Pension Sarstein for more than 4 decades - when it was run by the present owner, Mr. Fischer's mother. It is still wonderful and so are the Fischers. That says it all.

We came to Hallstatt by train and took a ferry to get the center. The Pension is located just 5 min walking from the ferry stop. All kind of restaurants are around and a supermarket with a but stop are just 10 min walking. Additional thanks to the hostess Tamara, she gave a lot of the good tips and is just very friendly :)
