The building was also very interesting (despite it being a historical, everything was modern and clean inside). The common areas were nice and our family played games that we brought. Kitchen is great and has everything you need. Dishwasher, oven, cooker, coffee machine, fridge. There were two dishwasher tablets with the hire. Our son loved the bath in the bathroom, whereas our daughter loved the separate rain shower. There are plenty of towels and enough toilet role for the first two days. Apartment is super clean, and just across the street from the Altastenberg slopes. The skibus stops 30 meters from the apartment in case you want to go to the other Winterberg slopes, which are basically two busstops away (with then some great skiing access to the Winterberg Karussel). We did not use the car the entire weekend (except for going to the supermarket) which is great as parking in Winterberg can get busy. Parking at the property is great as there is a separate barrier to which you get the key, so always a space and super secure. The ski/snowboard rental is below the apartment - via an internal door, and the staff there are super friendly. You can leave your skis and boots overnight so that they are nice and dry/warm in the morning. Kids hired skis and wanted to swap to snowboards for the day which was not a problem at all. We got 20% off the rental as the ski rental is owned by the same very nice lady as the apartment. We loved everything about our weekend here! And skiing was great, even though we are all advanced skiers!
