Choosing this place was the best decision, as the kindness and generosity of the people I met truly made my journey incredible. Waking up in a bungalow surrounded by rice fields to breathtaking sunrises and ending the day with stunning sunsets are memories that will stay with me forever. It was one of our favorite experiences in Cambodia as we travelled all over!

1.9 km from King's Road Angkor, Anou Home - Guesthouse is situated in Siem Reap and features free WiFi, express check-in and check-out and a tour desk. The property has city and quiet street views, and is 7.9 km from Angkor Wat. The accommodation offers luggage storage space, a housekeeping service and currency exchange for guests. We rented out the entire villa (4 bedrooms/5 bathrooms), plus kitchen/dining/living areas. This was a ton of space - could have comfortably housed 14 people rather than our 8. Everything was quite clean, the beds were soft and comfortable, and the showers were warm (once we figured out the hot water heaters). The home is down a little dirt road halfway between two major streets. The neighborhood was walkable to the downtown area, or else you could take a $1.25 tuktuk ride, and it was also an easy walk to the local market each morning. The WiFi worked Anou, our hostess, was just outstanding. She welcomed us with delicious snacks and fruit, checked in on us every day, and was quick to provide everything we could possibly ask for - laundry service, a missing kitchen utensil, a case of hard-to-find Coke Zero, whatever. She escorted us to the market the first day to show us the ropes and make sure we understood what fair prices should be, and put us in contact with a little nonprofit around the corner where we volunteered doing some English practice with local university students. They don't do daily cleaning, but came to clean or bring fresh towels/sheets anytime we requested it.

Our experience of homestays has always been good on this trip but Mr Bun and his family and friends were just pure joy. We arrived a day early and he welcomed us with open arms. His daughters were a delight and their English is great. The homestay is on the edge of town but Mr Bun can arrange transport for you to anywhere either by car or by his friend, Champion, with a tuk tuk. We had bicycles so went everywhere on those. Breakfast and an evening meal is included in the cost and these were always joyous occasions starting with a beer and a game of uni with the kids followed by more beer, maybe some happy water and a delicious meal. . It’s a completely different experience than staying in the center of town in a hotel with a pool but one we much prefer. I can’t thank Mr Bun and his family enough for letting us into their lives for a short while. Free water, tea and coffee are on offer at the homestay too and fresh fruit for breakfast grown on their property.

We liked absolutely everything about this place. Trevor and staff are such great hosts, always asking us how our day has been and on hand to answer any questions we had. We stayed in the family suite and it was very spacious to say the least. 2 bedrooms and a massive lounge, en suite in the master bedroom as well as a bathroom. The kids swapped beds as the lounge had 2 sofa beds and I mean they are bed size. Air con worked perfectly and there's also a fan in each room too. Can't say we've stayed in much better accommodation than this. The tranquility of the pool area was sublime, enough sunbeds and loungers for everyone....no getting up early to put the towels on! The pool was big enough and the kids could play safely in the shallow end with no worries. Plenty of options at breakfast and even a cheeky bacon and egg sandwich with HP sauce! Great choice of drinks as well. There were super friendly like minded travellers from Australia and beyond always happy to chat to you. We were sad to leave to leave but what an introduction to Cambodia and Siem Reap. Honestly can't recommend this place enough, if you're ever in Siem Reap, stay here. Thanks again Trevor and if we ever come back to Siem Reap we will stay with you again.
