A very nice tiny Hostel with great staff. Perfect for the arrival or pre-departure night. I had a single room which had a very nice interior. The breakfast was typical Costa Rican. I will come again :)

I came to San Jose for my prenatal appointment at CIMA Hospital and stayed at Ester's. It was walking distance from the hospital- even for a 7 months pregnant woman. Communication with the property was very fast. Ester was a saint and helped me book an English speaking taxi driver for my early morning departure. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. If you are traveling for medical tourism or want to stay in Escazu, you can't beat this location.

Everyone was so helpful! I booked this place to sleep for a few hours before my early morning flight. They picked me up from the airport bus stop and then dropped me off a few hours after. I booked a quad room and they were nice enough to give me my own quad room so I wouldn’t bother anyone waking up in the middle of the night. Would definitely recommend staying here and will stay here again if I’m ever back in Costa Rica! Thank you!!

For 2 nights, I slept in the dorm, in the lower bunk that was very near the door from the communal seating area into the garden. It was excellent there because I got a lovely cool breeze from that open door to the garden. So, even with the curtain of my bunk closed, I was very comfortable. Then, for the next two nights (because I was expecting pain from dental surgery), I booked a private room. The room was on the other side of the kitchen, with a louvred window facing into a closed-in little open space. There was absolutely no breeze there, so I was very hot and uncomfortable in that room, even though I had my own bathroom. So, if I stayed at this hostel again, I would rather be in a dorm: cooler because of the open-plan design, with no closed doors to the dorms. Something that I really liked was the available public transport: the No.7 bus (to el estadio) comes up the road, from the highway (near El Sabano park), to a bus stop really close the hostel. That bus goes into central San José, stopping along Avenida 2. To come from the city centre, to near the hostel, you need to go to Avenida 6: there is a bus stop near FarmaValue (between Calle 1 and Calle 0).

This is the place, when you got back from wherever you where before in Costa Rica to just calm down and have a very good night sleep. The beds are comfy, the rooms, showers, toilets are clean (btw the soap in the toilets smells amazing). The area surrounding is barrio escalante, there you can stroll around, enjoy a really good Coffee (cafeoteca is beyond), have great food and Just enjoy your stay in San jose.
