Very convenient location with a short walk to the bus station and sights/restaurants/shops, but still in a quiet area. Very spacious rooms and extremely friendly and serviceminded staff. Facilities and rooms were very clean with bathrooms on each floor. Comfortable beds with a big locker to store your luggage. Large and well equipped kitchen, which was a natural meeting point to meet fellow travelers. I really enjoyed my stay here.

It's located very close to the city's main attractions—the canal and the main square. The receptionists are native Spanish speakers (and I'm pretty sure they speak good English too, as well as Italian). They provide a top sheet, so you don’t have to sleep directly under the blanket. There’s also a bar where you can buy reasonably priced fast food, and a separate area where you can eat your own meals.

Set in Trieste and within 500 metres of Piazza dell'Unita d'Italia, ControVento features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.
