If you are lucky enough that Yuzan has an opening book it! It is a lovely Japanese 100 year old house the owners have converted to a guesthouse/hostel. It feels like you are staying in a home. The owners are friendly and speak English well. We arrived 3.5 before check-in but my husband was very sick with a head cold. They kindly cleaned our room quickly so my husband could lie down. There is a full kitchen to use with stove top, microwave, fridge, dishes, coffee and tea all day. There is a lovely lounge area to use. There are shared toilets and showers but I never had to wait for either and the water is hot. Wifi worked great. Their breakfast to order is only 600Y with eggs, toast, yogurt and jam/butter. Yuzan is located minutes from the train station and we walked to all the sights within Nara Park. I highly recommend this guesthouse!

The property is a former onsen, which makes it a very unique form of stay. The staff was always helpful and very nice, everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped and there was complimentary coffee and several kinds of tea. The location is also quite nice, very close to Osaka Castle and in walkable distance to Namba and all the major tourist spots in Osaka.

Very clean, friendly and welcoming staff were a highlight of Nara for us. Some travellers to chat with in the well furnished kitchen and common room downstairs. Right next to Nara train station. Nice walk to Nara park from the property past many restaurants and stores. Glad I stayed in here in Nara rather than doing a day trip.
