Clean place and with shopping mall and restaurants nearby. The shower and toilet cabins were clean, but shower water didn't have much pressure. Rooms are great and ac works well. Nice common area and awesome staff. Wifi works well.

What a lovely place!🥺 The staff is very kind and helpful, and the room is clean, safe, and spacious. The maintenance is superb—we loved the large lobby area. The hospitality is outstanding, and I truly appreciated it. They are equally kind to both locals and foreigners. The best part is that I had a chance to support their prevention programs, as they use the hostel’s profits to fund these initiatives. That means a lot to me. We made a last minute decision to spend a night in Colombo and were drawn to Sesaya Poshtel & Bistro—a stylish new addition to the city’s hospitality scene. The experience impressed us from the outset. After making the reservation, we were pleasantly surprised by the proactive communication from the team. Chalani and Ayesha reached out promptly to confirm our preferences, and upon arrival, they greeted us with genuine warmth. To our delight, we were also personally welcomed by General Manager Rajith, a gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s dedication to personalized service. The highlight of our visit was dinner at the rooftop bistro—a comfortable space with a lively atmosphere. Shenal, the Food & Beverage Manager, and his courteous assistant ensured our meal was seamless and memorable. We started with the Paprika Hummus, which offered a smoky, well-seasoned richness that paired beautifully with our chosen wine. Next came the Pulled Beef Tacos, a dish that exceeded expectations. While Sri Lankan beef is known for its flavor, it can often be tough—however, this version was melt-in-your-mouth tender, infused with deep, satisfying flavors. The Crispy Skin Barramundi was another standout: perfectly seared skin atop delicately cooked fish, complemented by a creamy sauce that elevated the dish without overwhelming it. Throughout our stay, every team member went out of their way to make us feel truly valued. The thoughtful farewell from each staff member who assisted us left a heartwarming and memorable impression.

Colombo downtown monkey is centrally located in the heart of Colombo just a short 5-minute walk from you Colombo’s main Railway and Bus Station. Guests can also check-out the peaceful Beira Lake.

The lady who runs the place is hilarious:) she is one of a kind and I usually forget fast hostel staffs but she definitely gonna stay in my memories:) she makes you breakfast, tells you everything you need to know, she is so naturally crazy funny, a real host, a very good host. The hostel is extremely basic but still and maybe because of this, socially extremely entertaining and perfect for the solo traveller young or old, It is a place where you can start your sri lankan trip. And trust me, the lady is so helpful and funny, you won’t regret this experience. Forget about professionalism, its a family :) its for easy-going backpackers. Or gladsome long termers with zero needs. It is extremely hard to find the property!!! only good souls with the fitting personality will make it xD
